OUR Ethos

  • The mission of Condell Park Christian School is to provide quality, Bible based Christian Education by:

    • teaching the truth in all subjects to a standard of academic excellence;

    • equipping students with a truly Biblical worldview, beginning with the Gospel and the need for each student to come to a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord;

    • developing Godly character in all students, helping them to discover their gifts, develop their talents, hone their skills, and thereby assisting them to mature into well-adjusted, Christian young people who love God and others; and

    • preparing graduates fully for a God-dependent life of service in all places – in their homes, churches, and communities, in our own nation and overseas.

  • To impact the world for Christ through Christian education, one child at a time.

  • Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus…

  • A simple definition of wisdom is ‘the practical application of Bible truths.’ At Condell Park Christian School, we believe having wisdom as our Core Value promotes an authentic Christian environment. Our School Motto directs us to look to Jesus Christ, and through a pursuit of wisdom, our students will naturally place their focus on Christ as He is “made unto us wisdom” (1 Cor. 1:30) and in Him “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3). Furthermore, Proverbs 4:7 states that “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding.” This highlights the priority of the pursuit of wisdom for every Christian.

    With wisdom as our Core Value, we have developed a number of Secondary Values which are practically emphasised each day at Condell Park Christian School.

In order to achieve our Mission and Vision as a school, we endeavour to emphasise wisdom in three key areas: curriculum, staffing and culture.

Wisdom in Our Curriculum

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”

- Proverbs 9:10

Only through an accurate knowledge of God from His Word, and a reverence for Him can true wisdom be obtained. The wise teacher implicitly reveals God in every key learning area that is taught in our school: Mathematics, English, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. As a registered school, we teach content that meets all the outcomes of the NSW syllabus but we rejoice in the freedom to highlight God’s impact on history, culture and the world that we see around us.

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”

- Proverbs 9:10

Knowledge and understanding are concepts directly tied to wisdom and at Condell Park Christian School, we aim to ensure all three components are taught through our classes. Knowledge is the accumulation of facts and information while understanding is the ability to gain meaning from the facts. Most education stops here, but true wisdom involves the right use of knowledge and understanding to make decisions that are glorifying to God. Our goal is therefore to equip students academically while helping them to realise their true purpose and potential in Christ. A truly wise student will be able to apply what they have learned at school wherever the Lord directs them and whatever the Lord calls them to do. They will be able to think critically, make sound decisions and understand the implications of their actions on the world around them.

Wisdom in Our Staffing

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

- Proverbs 11:30

We employ staff that have personally accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour. In addition, each of our staff are equipped and have a burden to personally share the Gospel with the students. It is our heart’s desire for each student to hear and respond to the Gospel while at school. Our teaching staff not only deliver curriculum in our key learning areas but also teach timetabled periods of Bible devotions and Chapel to equip students with a knowledge of the scriptures to help them become “wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”  (2 Tim 3:15).

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

- James 3:17

We employ staff that are professionals but also exhibit wisdom in their daily walk with Jesus Christ. Personal holiness and spiritual integrity helps keep children safe and secure from all possibility of harm from those who are entrusted with their care. Staff characteristics of gentleness, mercy, and impartiality ensure that each child is nurtured, loved and appreciated for the individuals that they are. We understand that our staff are a living Gospel for our students, and that our expectations for students in godly living must also be evident in the lives of our staff.

Wisdom in Our Culture

“The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.”

- Proverbs 23:24-25

We greatly desire that parents would rejoice in the academic and spiritual growth of their children while at our school. We understand that the best education happens when the home and the school work together in harmony. Parents in our school can expect to be welcomed to work in partnership to promote student learning and growth. We have several formal methods of providing feedback to parents over the course of the year (parent interviews, interim and end of semester reports) but in addition teachers are easily accessible for communication that is respectful, honest and transparent.

“And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. And Solomon's wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.”

- 1 Kings 4:29-30

We recognise that the wisdom of God is very different and far exceeds the wisdom of this world. In a day where the Bible is being attacked more and more, Condell Park Christian School is a place where children can be educated in a wholesome environment, where high standards are maintained and children are shielded from the evil agenda of this present world. We carefully select student texts and staff resources to ensure that students receive a quality and robust education without causing offense or confusion, while still equipping students with the knowledge and wisdom to confidently discern truth from error when exposed to all that lies outside the gates of the school.
